Pivoting from electrician's helper to something new - 6 weeks in

My layoff made me rethink whether to stay in my field. I worked as an electrician's helper before this. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
