Pivoting from electrician's helper to something new - 26 weeks in

I want to move from electrician's helper to something with more stability. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
