Pivoting from call-centre agent to something new - what worked for you?

After 5 years as a call-centre agent I am thinking about moving into a different field. There are 5 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
