Pivoting from accounts payable clerk to something new after 7 years as an accounts payable clerk

After 7 years as an accounts payable clerk I am thinking about moving into a different field. My family is supportive but nervous. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 8 months.
