Offer arrived, can I still ask for more? - what worked for you?

It is the first offer in 8 months and I do not want to mess it up. Thank you in advance. The hiring manager was friendly and open.

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
