It is the first offer in 3 months and I do not want to mess it up. I worked as an HR coordinator before this. The hiring manager was friendly and open. Did you negotiate?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
