I received an offer as a forklift operator and I think the pay is a little low. I worked as a forklift operator before this. I have a competing interview next week. Did you negotiate?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
