Offer arrived, can I still ask for more? - first time posting

I received an offer as a data-entry clerk and I think the pay is a little low. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The hiring manager was friendly and open. What wording worked?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
