I want to negotiate but I am afraid they will withdraw. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The hiring manager was friendly and open. Did it backfire?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
