Offer arrived, can I still ask for more? after 17 years as an IT help-desk technician

I want to negotiate but I am afraid they will withdraw. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The benefits are decent. What wording worked?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
