Negotiating pay when I have been out of work - what worked for you?

I do not know whether to give a range or ask for theirs. I worked as an accounts payable clerk before this. I looked up ranges in Boise and they vary a lot.

Check several sources for pay in Boise, then pick a range where the low end is one you can live with.
