Negotiating pay when I have been out of work - any advice?

I have been out of work for 5 weeks and feel pressure to accept less. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I also do not want to sell myself short. What did you say?

Benefits matter too. A slightly lower rate with better coverage was better for me.
