A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as an HR coordinator. It has been weighing on me all week. I looked up ranges in Columbus and they vary a lot. Does giving a range hurt?

Asking about the range for the role first worked for me. Some recruiters share it.

Benefits matter too. A slightly lower rate with better coverage was better for me.
