Negotiating pay when I have been out of work - 10 months and counting

I do not know whether to give a range or ask for theirs. There are 15 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I also do not want to sell myself short. How do you research fairly?

Check several sources for pay in Buffalo, then pick a range where the low end is one you can live with.
