Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - what worked for you?

I received an offer as an IT help-desk technician and I think the pay is a little low. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. The benefits are decent. Did you negotiate?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.
