Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - what worked for you?

It is the first offer in 3 months and I do not want to mess it up. I am in Seattle, in case local advice matters. I have a competing interview next week. Did you negotiate?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.
