Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - what worked for you?

I want to negotiate but I am afraid they will withdraw. Any experience at all would help. The hiring manager was friendly and open.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.
