Negotiating an offer, is it too late? (update)

I want to negotiate but I am afraid they will withdraw. I worked as a security officer before this. The hiring manager was friendly and open. What wording worked?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
