Negotiating an offer, is it too late?, payroll clerk here

I received an offer as a payroll clerk and I think the pay is a little low. It has been a long 8 weeks. The benefits are decent. Did it backfire?

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.
