Negotiating an offer, is it too late? after 9 years as a welding apprentice

I want to negotiate but I am afraid they will withdraw. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a competing interview next week. Did you negotiate?

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
