Negotiating an offer, is it too late? after 10 years as an accountant

I want to negotiate but I am afraid they will withdraw. The hiring manager was friendly and open. What wording worked?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
