Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - 9 months and counting

I received an offer as a software tester and I think the pay is a little low. I have a competing interview next week. Did it backfire?

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
