Negotiating an offer, is it too late?

It is the first offer in 12 months and I do not want to mess it up. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The hiring manager was friendly and open. Did it backfire?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
