Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - 5 months and counting

I received an offer as a production planner and I think the pay is a little low. I am in Knoxville, in case local advice matters. I have a competing interview next week. Did it backfire?

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
