Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - 5 months and counting

I received an offer as a home health aide and I think the pay is a little low. There are 5 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The hiring manager was friendly and open.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
