Negotiating an offer, is it too late? - 13 months and counting

I received an offer as a software tester and I think the pay is a little low. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The benefits are decent. What wording worked?

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
