Negotiating an offer, is it too late?

It is the first offer in 8 months and I do not want to mess it up. Thank you in advance. I have a competing interview next week. Did you negotiate?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
