How much room is there after an offer?, insurance claims processor here

I received an offer as an insurance claims processor and I think the pay is a little low. I am in Birmingham, in case local advice matters. The hiring manager was friendly and open. Did it backfire?

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
