How much room is there after an offer? - first time posting

I received an offer as an accountant and I think the pay is a little low. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The benefits are decent. What wording worked?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
