How much room is there after an offer? - any advice?

I received an offer as a retail manager and I think the pay is a little low. It has been a long 4 weeks. The benefits are decent. Did it backfire?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
