How much room is there after an offer? - any advice?

I received an offer as a home health aide and I think the pay is a little low. Any experience at all would help. The hiring manager was friendly and open. What wording worked?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
