How much room is there after an offer? after 9 years as a teaching assistant

I received an offer as a teaching assistant and I think the pay is a little low. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have a competing interview next week. What wording worked?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
