How much room is there after an offer?

I received an offer as a store manager and I think the pay is a little low. Any experience at all would help. The hiring manager was friendly and open. Did you negotiate?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
