How much room is there after an offer? - 5 weeks in

I received an offer as a procurement assistant and I think the pay is a little low. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The benefits are decent. What wording worked?

I thanked them and said I was excited but hoped we could talk about the pay. They came back with a bit more.

Most employers expect a short conversation. Mine did not even blink.
