How much room is there after an offer? - 23 weeks in

I received an offer as a data-entry clerk and I think the pay is a little low. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a competing interview next week. Did it backfire?

Ask about the range, not a number on its own. It felt more collaborative.

If they say no, consider asking for something else, such as a review in six months.
