How do I handle a long gap on my résumé? (Tulsa)

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a hotel front-desk agent. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time. Did anyone get past it?

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
