How do I handle a long gap on my résumé? (Toledo)

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. I am in Toledo, in case local advice matters. I am not sure how much to explain. How did you handle it on your résumé?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
