How do I handle a long gap on my résumé?, office manager here

I took time out to care for a family member after working as an office manager. I am nervous about being filtered out. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 6-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
