How do I handle a long gap on my résumé?, marketing coordinator here

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a marketing coordinator. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time. How did you handle it on your résumé?

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
