How do I handle a long gap on my résumé? - first time posting

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a logistics coordinator. It has been a long 24 weeks. I am not sure how much to explain. Did anyone get past it?

I was hired after a 6-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
