How do I handle a long gap on my résumé? (Columbus)

I have been out of work for 11 months and worry about the gap. I worked as a bookkeeper before this. I am nervous about being filtered out. What do you say in interviews?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
