How do I handle a long gap on my résumé? - any advice?

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a production planner. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
