How do I handle a long gap on my résumé? after 6 years as an insurance claims processor

I took time out to care for a family member after working as an insurance claims processor. I am nervous about being filtered out. How did you handle it on your résumé?

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
