How do I ask for an informational chat? after 8 years as an administrative assistant

A friend suggested informational chats and I do not know how to ask. It has been a long 26 weeks. Some people reply with short answers. Did any turn into leads?

I asked what they wish they had known at my stage. People enjoy answering that.
