How do I ask for an informational chat?, administrative assistant here

Freya Mercer · 2026-08-01T16:19:10.653Z

I sent 11 messages on a professional network and got two replies. There are 11 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I want advice, not a job directly. How do you phrase the request?

Follow up with a thank-you and a short update. One of my chats led to a referral a month later.
