Going back after 8 months at home (Portland)

I stepped out for 8 months to care for a family member and now want to return. Thank you in advance. I am unsure how to describe the break.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
