Going back after 7 months at home - 7 months and counting

I stepped out for 7 months to care for a family member and now want to return. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I want flexible hours. What helped?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
