Getting references after a company closes (update)

My manager was laid off too and I am unsure who to use as a reference. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. A colleague offered to vouch for me.

A client reference worked well for me. It shows you deliver outside the company too.

I kept a note of my results so my references could be specific. They appreciated it.
