Getting references after a company closes after 3 years as a marketing coordinator

I worry a reference will only confirm dates of employment. Thank you in advance. HR only confirms titles and dates. How do you ask politely?

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
