Getting references after a company closes - 8 weeks in

I worry a reference will only confirm dates of employment. I am in Birmingham, in case local advice matters. A colleague offered to vouch for me. Who did you use?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.
